Method One: No screws or fasteners are required for this installation method. You may need a ladder, measuring tape, a screwdriver, and wire cutters. Wear gloves to protect yourself from the sharp edges of the mesh. Start at one end, measure down your gutter, and gently bend the gutter cover along the long edge. Fit the gutter screen into the gutter, maintaining a "humped shape" and securing it in place just above the level of the gutter.

Method Two: For this method, you will need a ladder, measuring tape, self-tapping sheet metal screws, and wire cutters. Install the aluminum screen gutter guards flat on top of the rain gutters, tucking one end under your shingles and securing it with self-tapping screws. Cut the gutter guards into sections if needed.
